    BNP chief Tarique Rahman to visit Chattogram on Jan 25

    BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Chattogram on Jan 25 to address a major election rally at the city’s Pologround venue.

    Preparations for the event have already commenced across the BNP’s Chattogram city, north, and south district units.

    The Chattogram city unit has already held preliminary meetings.

    In addition, a high-level meeting involving party candidates from all 16 parliamentary constituencies in Chattogram has been convened for Monday at the residence of BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.

    Ershad Ullah, convenor of Chattogram Metropolitan BNP, told bdnews24.com on Sunday night: “Our honourable chairman will attend the grand rally at the Pologround on the 25th of January.

    “As this coincides with the official campaign period, it will serve as a major election rally.”

    He added, “We have already conducted a meeting with the Metropolitan BNP’s convening committee. This will be followed by an extended meeting and further preparatory sessions at the Thana and ward levels.

    “We have taken all necessary measures to ensure this pre-election rally is a total success.”

    This visit marks Tarique’s first return to Chattogram in over two decades.

    Highlighting the significance of the event, Nazimur Rahman, member secretary of the Metropolitan BNP, said: “[Tarique] is the greatest source of inspiration for the party.

    “He will deliver a vital speech to the people of Chattogram and outline his ‘plan’ for the region.”
